I've often wondered how the other Zenitar lenses performed compared to the Zen 16 fisheye. This lens seems to perform pretty well.

But that poor daffodil is looking a little worse for the wear. ;)

    Beautifully soft bokeh!

Do you have a pic of the lens?

I've used this lens for 3 days on the NEX-5.
My preliminar and unscientific conclusion is that wide open (f/1.7)
the lens performs reasonably well, and the bokeh indeed is very soft.
It is also a lens that I'm inclined to use for B/W photography:

Here follow some - again unscientific - test shots (no PP, except resizing and using a clone tool for the f/16 pictures ;) )

    Boring Test Shot Gallery FLT.I (Zenitar-M 50mm f/1.7)
    Dedicated Image Gallery (Zenitar-M 50mm f/1.7) (less boring images ;) )

Pictures of the lens in combination with the NEX-5 will follow later,
