Ahh... this has been my absolute favorite AF lens for the past 3 years.

I shot with this on my DSLR and now use it with the LA-EA2 on my NEX 6. I have always been very pleased with the images this lens produces! This was the lens that lived on my DSLR. It is a great all purpose lens with good reach and excellent I in my mind.

The only gripes I have are that it moves to F4 pretty quickly and then to 4.5 around 35mm if I remember correctly. Also, my copy has a fair amount of zoom creep which I fix with one of those rubber wrist bands (got the idea from Lens Band which is the exact same concept).

I would be more than happy to answer any questions or post samples if you are interested.

What body are you thinking about using it on?

I will grab some samples from the library later today.

Auto focus is nice and quick with the LA-EA2, but I have had some trouble with in the past hitting focus on my NEX 6 - never on my older alpha body - but that seems to have improved with the latest firmware update and a factory reset...

Yadex - I just grabbed some quick stuff from the library to throw out on Flickr to show as samples. All of these are SOOC so you will see some stuff that needs to be cleaned up in all of them probably ;)

I did have a bit of trouble finding quick samples that were not edited that were also not images with family or friends faces in them (still trying to get over that concern of mine when posting to Flickr). I also realized that the majority of these are shot wide open, so that should help give you an idea too. I tried to grab shots that represented some different levels of detail, color, and lighting.

Only the yellow Iris is from the NEX 6 and everything else looks like it is from an older Alpha.

I will also try to take a pick of how nicely the finish matches the LA-EA2 (and the NEX 6 for that matter) later and post that as well for you.

Let me know if you have any questions on the images!

Wao nice pictures like the colors solid and vibrant, nice background blur and that indoor picture look great

That lens is a 3.5-4.5 will need a lot of light for indoors???

I'm trying to learn I really don't have much time on week days to read and practice and my weekends I'm up and down with my family

The lens does need a fair bit of light indoors, but it really shouldn't be too big of an impact depending on the type of shots you plan on taking. I do have to say it was a lot easier to take indoor shots in lower light when I had the IBIS of the DSLR ;)

It really is a great lens in my opinion!

Have you found one that you are looking at? New? Used?

I am really liking mine as well! Very happy with the feel and usability. I am enjoying the output with it wide open on the a6000!

I am not quite sure it was worth all of the mess I went through to get the combo together, but I am finding that this is a wonderful kit for my shooting "style" [emoji6]
