Zeiss may thank you for making a case for the Loxia 21mm :). If I remember correctly, you also have the FE 4/16-35mm. How do you see yourself using those two lenses?

    Yeah.
Good question. How does it compare to the 16-35 especially in terms of sharpeness ?
I'd like to give the Batis 18 a try (once I'll find the funding)

I see myself using the 21 as part of a three prime, lightweight, small, walk-around kit: 21-35-90. All three lenses and my A7II fit snugly in a little Eagle Creek shoulder bag that I've had for years, and which doesn't scream CAMERA BAG. And if you're thinking that the gap between 35mm and 90mm is too large, take a look at this:

    Focal Lengths.

The 35 falls nicely into the middle of that range. So much so that I'm selling my 55 f/1.8 to help pay for the 21.

I plan to take the 16-35 and 24-240 along when I don't care as much about size and weight, and more about versatility. But for me, 21mm is about as wide as I want to go and still have an image that looks "normal."

I haven't had the chance yet to do any side-by-side testing. But my first impression of this new 21 is very, very good, both in output and handling. I'll try to post a test soon.

:bravo-009: This is sweet like candy!!!

But wait:hmmm:... I'm pretty sure I can find a post or 2 about your lack of funds or your happiness with your then current kit. Oh I understand. Your GAS must have become so unbearable that no amount of money was going to stand in your way of relief.

I'm pretty sure you'll love that FE 4/70-200mm, Nick! I know I do. I still don't have a 1.8/55mm which I consider quite an achievement, even when I'm closely following the ads for a used one.

    Thanks guys!
A native 50mm is definitely next on my list (still can't make up my mind between the Zeiss or the FE 50mm even after all the comparissons I've read) but enough with that: Let's not threadjack David's thread more :D - I'll post some pics and my impessions soon in the dedicated lens thread ;)

comment & question: I'm agreeing about the 55 f1.8--just not using it very much, despite its sharpness. question: what Eagle Creek bag are you using (I'm looking for one to carry a similar kit).
