I slapped my Marumi 330 Achromat onto my Contax Zeiss 80-200mm this afternoon. This lens already has a really impressive magnification of about 37x. It might be a little less than that. I don't expect that the real focal length of 198mm is constant at its closest focusing distance of 1 meter. If it is, then the Marumi 330 brings the magnification up to 1.2x. In any way, I'm certain the combination is better than 1:1.

Here's what I got. Both of these, I'd say, are only slightly farther away than the minimum focusing distance with the Marumi 330. Both are shot at f/22.
