2. When the camera is in vertical (portrait) it behaves differently regarding the focus point.
Check your setting for the menu item "Swt. V/H AF Area" - You have it set to keep different focus areas when it portrait vs landscape orientation.

Edit: For the A7iii, it should be in the "Camera Settings 1" menu.

Kingfisher startled me by flying in front of my face, so I shot from the hip and this is the result.

Attempting to pose multiple dogs is (IMO) geometrically more difficult than shooting a single dog. It helps to have an assistant but, sometimes the assistant gets in the way...

This is the way it finally turned out...

Testing to see if my remote would work with the A9. Yup, it does.

This one isn't bad at all.
Really ?
And why I don't like it ? Because the perspective is too strong and all the photograph is too deformed by the lens.
There isn't any light directly on the guy. Nothing. In fact with this light a direct one is impossible.
It was the only lens in the bag this morning. Perhaps this is just a poor excuse ?‍♂️
The project is "On the wings of Morpheus".
Thank you Edwin for commenting !

Ah, I see.
I consider this a street shot. In my opinion, street shots don't need beautiful complex lighting that falls on the subjects. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right?
Anyway, you're welcome, Antonio.

Edwin, I agree but the image is supposed to have something peculiar about it. This one doesn't
It is like the previous one I have posted: badly framed, subject at the center... no
If it is sharp ? Yes it is but that is not enough !

This was not a good concert for me. I have lots of pics of perfectly-focussed microphones.

But, at least this one made me laugh. I even spent a short time post-processing it.

One for violin-bow lovers:
