Picked one up at a steal of a price. Should get it middle of next week, any experience with this lens?

No experience but there were several models made. Supposedly ml is better than the previous models but no match for Zeiss one.

That's a new one on me. Be interesting to see what it will do.

As stated there are several versions of this lens. Not all of them documented accurately. Here is a good site for Yashica ML info.

    http://www.hi-ho.ne.jp/sbko-hq/YASHICA_ML/Lens.html

As you can see there were 3 versions of the ML 135, a YUS 135 and a DSB 135. So that is a total of 5 different Yashica 135mm 2.8 lenses. The YUS and DSB versions were single coated, the ML of course were Multi Layered. There is some quality difference between the 3 ML versions but memory fails me as to the differences. You will find sources on the web that state the ML 135c was produced by Cosina (thus the C) but Im not sure if this is entirely accurate. The C was used in the Zeiss line to denote a Compact version of a lens and I think this was the case with the ML as well. But at the end I think one of the ML 50mm's had a C and was actually produced by Cosina.

Who knows, who cares. Mount it up and go turn the aperture ring in anger on honest photography. Look at the results. Are they good or bad? This will of course tell you nothing about the lens but will give insight into yourself as a photographer. :)

Ah, Yashica, now it makes sense. I have a ML 135/2.8 around here somewhere. Very similar to my PK (Bayonet) 135/2.5 in IQ. The Pentax is more prone to purple fringing wide open, but I prefer the bokeh over the ML.

Well the lens turned out to be pretty much garbage, blades stick and don't move.

Bid on a canon fd 135 2.5 and won that.

    It's pretty sweet lens.

Shot wide open with lens turbo
