Thanks! I'll have to export a color version from Lightroom to post for comparison.

I was going to create a new thread, but figured it would get lost. Here is the color version of the above "Wooded Path" photo:

Thanks for posting it Ed - my curiosity is now satisfied :D

Btw, you were right - the B&W version works better ;)

B&W is a clear winner imo.

Not so sure myself. I think I'd bump up the green saturation and see what comes out, the color version looks promising to me as well.

Nice to hear you think the color version shows promise as well :) Interestingly this was almost a throw away shot I took at the very end of my visit to the Japanese Friendship Garden. I didn't even process it my first time through my pictures thinking it didn't make the cut. Then a few weeks later I decided to make a second pass and for some reason this one caught my eye that time.

I agree with Ad, a sat bump does wonders for the color shot.

Isn't it funny how going back weeks later to view pics reveals some real gems that you overlooked at the time? ;)

Yes, I like the shot I think there's something here. I would play with the file a bit. trying different things.

No traditional HDR. Just boosted shadows, contrast, and white levels in Lightroom.
