We had a fresh snowfall this week. I took the opportunity to go out snowshoeing for the first time ever. I'm an avid hiker in the summer months, but this was new. I got a pair of shoes for Christmas so figured I would give them a shot. Got a bit freaky at the 3.5 mile point when it became apparent that the trail doubled back on itself, twice. I was following a track already beaten down. The fresh deep snow makes everything look like a trail in the woods. Guessing the people before me got confused and doubled back on themselves at some point. So when I got back to a signpost I just took a connector trail back to the parking lot. Made for just over 5 miles. When I played the GPS track on my computer it was kind humorous, watching it go in a circle for a bit.

Anyway, here are some shots, though was more concerned with staying upright in the snow than composing shots. Tried to adjust the exposure a bit in LR as I can never perfect my winter exposure settings. There was a lot of mid gray tones from being an overcast day. And being pretty green with digital altering as a whole they still seem a bit off.

Very lovely. And I'm glad you have all that snow and not me. ;)

Glad I got out yesterday. Today 40 degrees and rainy, all that snow sticking to the trees is now gone.

Great photos my friend, you caught very well the winter in those photos, the first is my favorite.

we had a small snow storm a few days ago, but I couldn't go out and shoot some photos, I had to work :(.

News here was originally saying that NY was going to get hammered bad by that blizzard. How bad did that end up? or did it mostly move up north?

I love winter scenery. Love being out in it. But by the end of winter I'm certainly ready for summer to come.
