I like to carry my Nex all day with me, wherever I go and I can also carry 3 lenses with me in the everyday bag.
From the lenses below, aside the optical performance and just taking into consideration the focal lenghts, which 3 would you carry and why?

    1. MD Rokkor 35 f/2.8
    2. MD 50 f/1.7
    3. MD Rokkor 50 f/1.4
    4. MD Tele-Rokkor 135 f/3.5
    5. MD 35-70 f/3.5 Macro
    6. MD 28-85 f/3.5-4.5
    7. MD 35-105 f/3.5-4.5
    8. MD 35-135 f/3.5-4.5
    9. MD Rokkor 50-135 f/3.5
    10. MD 70-210 f/4.5-5.6
    11. SEL 16mm f/2.8
    12. SEL 18-55

    Nice collection :)

For everyday purposes I would probably carry the MD 35/2.8, the MD 28-85 and the SEL16. That way I could do almost all types of photography, except maybe birds.

    Thanks Jaf

Problem is I can't separate from my MD 50 f/1.4 - its my most used lens, always mounted on the camera, so that leaves me with only 2 more lenses to carry :)

Ideally I'd like the 70-210mm for its long reach and a wide lens (probably the 35mm but can't say that its too wide). I'm thinking of either buying a wider lens like the 24mm or 28mm or thinking that maybe the MD 24-35mm would solve my "issue". But then again, I'd need a fast-ish medium telephoto lens like the 135 2.8/3.5 with me too...

I don't know why but I never really "bonded" with the SEL 16mm, nor can I say that I use it much...

In that case, I would still go for the 28-85 as it will allow you to do wideish shots, and maybe go crazy with the 70-210 if there's room for it. But then you have quite a chunky pack.

I love the 35/2.8, it's my walkabout lens. But if you prefer the 50/1.4, there is little point bringing the 35.

From the lenses you listed, I'd take the 16mm Sony and both the 35mm and 50mm Rokkor with me. I need a wide angle prime for my landscape work, with the obvious 35mm standard lens and the 50mm for a little bit more background compression in landscapes and of course portraits.

I actually would prefer 12 and 24mm instead of 16 and 35, but that's just me.

    That could work!!!

    Makes perfect sense :)

    Thanks for the reply :)
That combo would miss the telephoto side tho, and I kinda like the idea of having a long reach with me just in case...
