So I was seriously thinking about splurging for the 35 1.2 when I was thinking I already have the zeiss 2418, I would be using it on my A7r so the 24 would be used in crop mode, 15mp
I could even use it without the crop to get a bit wider.

How different would the image be do you think between these two lenses?

I can't speak to the Zeiss 24mm f/1.8, but I can say that Voigtlander is an incredible lens. Soft wide open, but just about as sharp as you can imagine across the frame at f/4 and up. Assuming you're fine with 15MP, though, that may not really matter as much.

In terms of comparison beyond resolution, it depend son what you want in terms of DOF, too. The 24mm f/1.8 in crop mode will have the DOF of a 35mm f/2.8 and it depends on whether that's okay for you or not. On the other hand, if you're happy with the 24mm, I'd say stick with what you've got and like unless you've got serious money to burn.

You can check the slrclub Voigtlander review w/ A7(R):
    http://www.slrclub.com/bbs/vx2.php?id=slr_review&divpage=1&no=372

The main difference will be 1.5 stop of dof on CV 35mm and the microcontrast of Zeiss lens. They are pretty much at similar prices and size, but CV is a metal, heavy lens made for mf w/ aperture and smooth focus ring.

Also if you want, you can look at the images in the Sample Image Thread for the CV35mm and I could provide full size jpegs of any shots you might be interested in looking at a little closer.

Well I don't have a lot of money to spend. I was going to sell a couple of my lenses to fund it. Probably try to move a 55 1.2, my voigtlander 40 1.4 and maybe my rokinon 35 1.4

I love my Voigt. I prefer the Zeiss rendering for most things and the 55/1.8 is the must have lens for the system, but there's just something special about the look you can get with a fast 35 on FF.
