Has anybody been lucky to get a copy of their 15mm Voigländer 4.5 native E mount? I'm a bit reluctant getting the VL M mount with an adapter, if the native Sony mount is just around the corner.

For now I decided to try out the M mount as the native Sony E mount is still not released. So far with the Voigländer VM mount adapter I'm happy. Great Image quality.

Yes those are great shots, I'm also tempted by it, or even the M-mount 10mm although non are in stock anywhere, but they are very expensive, I have the CV 15 Mk2 and love it but thinking of getting the CV 12 5.6 M-mount and selling the 15, just fancy that extra bit of wide angle.

10mm is a brand new lens for both m and e mounts that will be released in a few months. New 12mm is redesigned for digital also, so it will be similar to 15mm v1/2 vs v3.

Anybody willing to compare the M-mount and E-mount? Wonder how they compare. Thanks

Why 5.6 on the 12mm? Or on the 10mm?

i'm just curious about why the widest it goes is 5.6. i've got a 12mm/f2 rokinon that was a good bit cheaper. i just dunno why it'd be 'limited' to a 5.6, especially since most fotogs would like the option of faster, i imagine.

The 12mm f/2 is an APS-C lens. It's easier to design a faster lens for a smaller sensor with a narrower field of view. It's about as difficult as making an 18mm f/2.8--not super difficult.
With extreme angles of view like what you get from a 10mm and 12mm, there's no way to design a lens this small for a FF sensor and make it fast, too. A 12mm f/2 for FF would be absurdly large. To get the faster aperture, it would have to be a retrofocus lens with a very, very large and extremely complex design with lots of complex distortion.

Well, if I spent as much time practicing photography that I do reading about these things...I'd be a much better photographer by now. ;)
