    Hi all,
I wanted to ask if the third minutes video limitation is only for the nex systems, but also for all camera systems?

    Regards
    Alex

Never heard of a three minute limit. I have shot longer than that.

The thirty minute video limitation is because of a european law where every camera which can shoot longer video sequences counts as 'video camera' and the manufacturers have to pay additional tax when selling 'video cameras'. So yes, this limit affects every camera except dedicated video cameras (not sure about the Panasonic GH series, though).
