Valentine's day - flowers for my wife, photo op for me.

Handheld, daylight in my dining room.
A6000 with older Tamron SP 90/2.5 27 BBAR macro lens, probably f5.6-ish.

First photo I have dared to post. Suggestions for improvement are welcome. I know I should have used a tripod, which would have let me use a much lower ISO instead of 3200, but I was losing daylight fast and did not want to take the time.

Still, I thought it turned out pretty well all things considered.

Looks good. I would have shot it at f/4 or wider and sacrifice dof for lower ISO. That's not a criticism, just personal preference.

Thanks, fractal. I often find a really thin DOF appealing in some photos. And I do have others with a wider aperture for this and other flowers in the bunch, but ended up liking this one more. It is entirely possible I will think differently next time I look through the photos, so perhaps it is even a thing of the moment as well as personal preference.

Bob, that's a really nice, gentle image. You should post more stuff. :popcorm2:

Very kind of you to say. I find the quality of images here kind of intimidating. I shall strive to overcome and post more in the future.

Heck, if I were intimidated at all I wouldn't post any of mine. I'll be the first to admit that my images are far from the quality of what everyone else posts here. Straight out of the camera is pretty much what I post.
