Two fast 58mm Lenses

    Here's a pair of comparison shots between the Voigtlander 58mm f/1.4 and the Minolta 58mm f/1.2:

    I find that both lenses produce their smoothest bokeh at f/2 because of the less than circular OOF areas in the outer frame.

    Impressive results!!! Love the first 2 comparison shots which btw look very close in performance :thumbup:

    The Minolta has smoother bokeh and seems sharper, while the CV has more pleasant (to me) colors. Both seem quite good tbh.

    I think the difference in sharpness is a result of the fact that the focus point is different. You can't really tell with this size, but the CV has that small pink flower bud in sharp focus, while the Minolta is focused slightly behind it. For the area that overlaps, its basically impossible to tell the difference at 100% viewing on my monitor. This is going to be an ongoing comparison. I need to decide which I'm going to keep.
