Is M mode fully manual on Nex 6?
"AV" is showing in all display views while in M mode. All other modes show the matching setting on the display.
Fast shutter speeds in manual seem much slower than chosen speed.
Shows AV symbol in manual mode with either an e-mount lens or a legacy lens.
When I push the FN key it temporarily disappears.

Yes - I can switch modes and it shows appropriately except for M mode.

Hello pworden. As to the AV issue, I never noticed it. As long as the ability to change the settings, in the "M" mode work (and mine do) I am happy. Can you change the Aperture and shutter speed settings in your "M" mode. You did not mention if those work correctly.
Not to sound patronizing (if so forgive me) but to make those changes:
    1. the aperture is changed with the top chrome concentric ring.
    2. The shutter speeds are changed, with the black dial, ring on the back of the camera . Just dial/turn it carefully (ISO, EV etc when pushed).
    Enjoy the camera.

Yes - I can change the settings as you describe. No worries about patronizing - I humbly accept all advice!
Even so, seems that camera is not using the dialed in shutter speed - seems slower, even more reason to suspect the "AV" showing in "M" mode.
Does your camera show this? I plan to call Sony later today. Will post their response.

I was checking mine out, and I think the "Av" designation is showing the function of the top dial (controlling aperture instead of shutter).

You are absolutely correct! I called Sony and that's what it indicates.
The slower shutter speed was because I had DMF instead of manual focus.
I will refrain from any more ignorant questions until after Thanksgiving!
