We spent some time at our local Aquarium
https://www.odyseaaquarium.com/

I had in tow the A6400 and 50mm 1.8. Aquarium shooting can be a real challenge. Dim lighting, fast-moving creatures, weird reflections and no flash allowed makes it tough.

Still, I was able to get some good shots along the way

I've never seen a shark bend like that! Cool capture you got there Dave. And who knew a swordfish could open it's mouth like that?
Ya, I'm not sure what's up with that bent shark. Crazy looking though.

That crazy wide open mouthed fish is not a swordfish (although I forgot the name). It's a fresh water filter feeder of some sort.

These are wonderful photos. It is a paddlefish, probably an American Paddlefish. With our specie's usual predilection to kill things, they are under tremendous threat.

I think the threat to the paddlefish must be somewhat dependent on location. They still allow a limited harvest of them here, but you can't fish for them in the usual way. You have to snag them. Seriously.

They did close the season early this year (in May) to protect population, so perhaps things are a bit more dire than past years.
