I took back from my holydays a few videos made with my A7, I usually shoot pic but some moments needed the video, so now, where to start?
I need a few names of easy softwares that accept the avchd files from the a7 and allows basic adjustments, cut, paste, copy, a exposure compensation, highlights and shadows & similar.

    thank you

I don't think movie maker will support sony files without conversion ... which makes it a pain

I am not a video person, but did you try it? MS seems to say it will work. If not, you could convert it with Handbrake (free) or something similar.
What kind of files can I use in Movie Maker? - Windows Help

I've had no problems using Windows movie maker for quick splice jobs.

Note that this post is from some years ago now :p

I missed that. Anyhow did you need to convert the MTS files before movie maker allowed you to use them?

Nope, just click the 'add video/photos' button and it will display everything it can read, including m2ts. Don't mistake it for 'open project' which is restricted to Movie Maker files.

Yup, finally worked. The latest movie maker opens MTS files natively and has image stabilization and all.
