Cheap and cheerful lens. Used it this afternoon because I didn't want to have too much weight while we were walking the dog. To be honest, this was one of the very few keepers, mostly focus was off. Focal length was probably 210mm.

    Nice shots Ad :)
It looks quite sharp in the center and nice colours too
I was considering this lens before I got the MD 70-210 f/4.5-5.6 for its small size and weight

How much was the Tokina for you? I am also intrested for the small size...
What are your shutter speeds needed to handhold this at 200mm?? Yes I know the rule of thumb but were you able to get sharp results with lower speeds?

    Regards

I paid € 20 for 2 Tokinas, 50-250/4-5.6 and 70-210/4-5.6; a photo shop in my home town regularly offers legacy stuff for low prices, they probably got it from trade-ins and just want to get rid of it. I always make them an offer for a 20 % lower price which they readily accept. That said, I think I could get this SD 70-210mm for € 15 or less on the Dutch auction sites, they're not considered special. Concerning shutter speeds, I used 1/400 s (M mode, auto ISO), didn't try slower ones because I didn't have time to adjust the shutter speed to the actual focal length set.

Dog says thank you for the compliment . He's 7 years old now and seems fully recovered from earlier surgery, it's the first time we took him out into the parc after that and we were glad to see that he was as lively as he has been before.

Sounds as a very nice offer. Grats
Can you please share some shots of the 50-250 too? How heavy is this lens?
    Regards
