For a 5x zoom, the lens is relatively slim and light, with a 55mm filter thread. Part of the reason I bought this lens.

I think you can usually find it around $50-60, even cheaper if you look on eBay.

One more thing, it has a macro setting at 50mm that goes to 1:1.4 magnification.

Beautiful colours! Do you use the lens hand-held also at 250mm and what shutter speed do you need to get sharp pics?

I have a monopod attached to the camera, it can help some shots, such as the daffodil and mushroom ones.
But more than half of the times, I use it just handheld, even at 250mm, the butterfly shot definitely was just handheld at 250mm.
The shutter speed ranges from 1/640 to 1/80s, this butterfly shot was at 1/640s. (By clicking on the image, you should be able to see EXIF and enlarged size).

This is a hand-held shot taken quickly with my Tokina 100-300 f5.6, a similar lens to 'ENO789's.....These lenses effectively have no real monetary value but are good peformers and not bulky to carry about.

Can you please share some shots of the 50-250 too?

I only did some test shots with it and I wasn't particularly impressed so I didn't put it to use. The test pictures came out a bit dull to my taste though sharpness is OK.
