Of the 28mm's you been through, what are poor performers, any keepers? This kind of info would benefit every one.
I like
* Canon FD 28mm/2.8 (cheap and very decent quality)
* Vivitar Close Focusing 28mm/2.8
I have but don't like very much
* Nikon Series E 28mm/2.8
There're a couple I need to use more to form an opinion.
* Minolta MD 28mm/2.8 with (49mm filter thread)
* Tamron adaptall-2 28mm/2.5
Ones I have tried, all from Ebay:
1- Minolta Rokinon MD 2.8. I bought one and it had all kinds of dust that made the images unusable. I bought a second one and the connecting tabs were beat up and unusable. Both sellers refunded the purchase when notified.
2- Nikkor Series E 2.8. Bad coloring, (everything looked pale), and not sharp at all. Resold.
3- Albinar 2.8 with Macro focusing. I really liked this lens as it allowed me to get really close. Unfortunately I struggled to get a sharp picture in anything but a static object. It seemed that the focus was just way to sensitive on a moving subject and even tricky on a static object. Resold.
I have bought other sizes and have had great luck and some nice lenses. I just can't seem to get a good 28mm. Here's hoping the Tokina is a keeper.
