Another couple clumps of mushrooms materialized during the night from all the rain and's one clump.
Dark, rainy, gloomy...only thing I got to shoot today...ran out between showers / no tripod, played the cards I was dealt as best I could.

First photo is how I found them in a natural area pushing up the pine straw.
(for those not familiar, that's slang for the 10"-15" pine needles that come from Long Leaf Pines).

Second photo is with the pine straw carefully removed for a different look.

Third photo is a little Pine seedling being overwhelmed by the encroachment.
(but Deer will gobble the mushrooms up tonight so the seedling should be fine again tomorrow)

Experimented with the "Cloudy WB" setting, as well as the "VIVID" setting.

Canon FDn 100/4.0 and 50/3.5 Macro Lenses on the NEX-7
Manual Mode, Spot Metering, Cloudy WB, VIVID, ISO200, 1/200, F4.0
