    Hobart, Australia
The rise and fall of the tides among the rocks
Shearwaters streaming in their endless flocks
diving gannets knifing down beneath the waves
to catch the fish to help their chicks survive.
A sea eagle with its talons widely opened in a dive
scattering all the other seabirds feeding in the salmon boil.
All this and more is part of my recall while working in Verona to make sculptures come alive.
The memories of islands in Bass Strait are now in easy reach
on the wave lapped promenade of Sandy Bay Beach.
