I had another excellent day at Road Atlanta.

The Ferrari Challenge was hosted at Road Atlanta past weekend and I spent most of Friday out there shooting the cars on the track and the teams in the paddock area. Other than the drivers, mechanics and track officials, there was practically nobody there. Friday was mostly drivers checking out the track and cars. No real racing. That occurred Saturday and Sunday.

All images were shot with classic manual lenses on either the Sony A7II or A7RII. I primarily used the Super-Takumar 55mm f1.8, an Auto Sears 50mm f1.7 and the excellent Canon FD 300mm f4 L. I brought other manual lenses but none of the images I took with those didn't make the cut.

Below are a few samples from the day.

Thanks for sharing Andy.
I hope to go to Laguna Seca next week for Rennsport.
Hope I can do as well with pictures as you've done here.

That one! :2thumbs:
I was lucky that I was aiming in that direction when it went off the track. I had started tracking the car in front of this one and heard the screeching of tires and quickly recomposed. My shutter speed was pretty low at the time (1/50) so a majority of images of this incident were pretty blurry but a couple did come out alright.

Great shots! Looked like a fun event to be at. I've been to a few regional bike races in the past, one at NHIS, and Laguna Seca. It's nice to be able to have the whole track and pitlane accessible to photograph. There are so few people around.

Thank you! I'd love to do a bike race at some point.
