What a process.
They were just prepping it to blow up.
This was 6am a few weeks later..........
Photo was taken just after detonation and the girders are falling. The new bridge is behind the smoke.
Never been to one of these, but it seems exciting.
It kind of saddens me to see something that obviously took time and effort go away.
I got up at 4:30am with the plan being sun-up for the blast. There were literally hundreds of people in the spot whereI set up. Fortunately, I was in the front of the crowd. There were several viewing areas so I'd guess the total crowd was in the thousands.
It happens very quickly and then it's over.
The new bridge (in the background) is more efficient and better constructed.
Great shots! That new bridge was long overdue, but it's still sad to see part of my childhood home disappear.
