The Best of Goodwood 2010-2014 You guys are really working me hard tonight! Not that I mind - nice excuse to look through the oldies! So in chronological order... 2010 pre Nex, all on iPhone... I'll start by explaining that every year one Marque is the main sponsor, this year was Alfa Romero and they put up this 4 leaf clover suspending the greatest of their past and present. So 2011, first year with the Nex 5... This year, it was sponsored by Jaaaaaaaaag! When the Wife saw this she fell in love - she still says she's getting one! Special Sterling Moss SLR The Red Arrows always make an appearance (amongst other flybys) The Alfa 4C - nearly ordered one of these the other week, settled for the new Audi S1 as a sensible compromise! Vitaly Petrov driving a 2010 Renault R30 F1 car (in 2011 Lotus Renault GP colours) Where else can you get this close to race car drivers (be it F1, Nascar, Rally etc)... This was AWESOME! I got covered in fuel as it splutter to life! Including this of the Bloodhound 1000mph car only to mention that the oil pump is a 750bhp Cosworth F1 V8!!!! Onto 2012... Nico Rosberg Another speeding shot... This year Lotus took centre stage The Bluebird display was pretty phenomenal 2013, Porsche take the reigns This is by far the best place to stand... At the staging area in the pre-starting area. It's too small for the F1 cars to turn around in one go, and so often lacking a reverse gear they are FORCED to do a 180 donut to turn around. As its not technically part of the track there are no 'safety bails' so you can get really close. Emerson Fittipaldi here about to take a run up the hill in an old McLaren. There is so much to do here, many paddocks at the bottom on the hill (Super cars, Classic, F1 etc), along with hundreds of stalls, plus all the major Marques have MASSIVE stands (if you bring your key you can get access to each VIP area - helps to own lots of cars!), on the way up the hill there is a 4x4 course they will give rides on, and at the top a rally course with cars from the past 50 years being driven by past and present stars. Really can't explain how much car lovers NEED to go to this - and for 2 days to take it all in!
