    Glanced out through the kitchen window and saw it going across my back yard.
    I keep it as an all natural area with various 'natural' type feeding stations...and there's a few acres of woods right behind it.
    First I shot it with the 400mm at 50 feet...then put the 35-105 Macro on and went out / took a seat right beside it.

    PS: Per Google search, my photos match those of the "Eastern Box Turtle".
    Guessing its a Female that just laid eggs because close observation shows tiny bits of dirt / mud scattered all over the shell.
