Spent my day off today walking around Bournemouth snapping away with my new Samyang 14mm lens. Safe to say I'll probably send it back; I didn't expect much for £240 but I just don't see a use for something with such bad barrel distortion and contrast in comparison to my Sony 28-70. Shame, but here are some ok photos nonetheless :D

Nice compositions! Too bad about the distortion and smeared edges. The 2nd shot of the bridge, would be brilliant if in sharp detail.
I'm assuming you shot with the NEX-7. A bit surprised that it wasn't better. I have the Rokinon branded version of the same lens and it's excellent on my a6000.
Wonder if you got a de-centered copy.

Just realised I haven't changed my signature in about a year :D it was actually shot on my A7s, so perhaps it would be a better lens for APSC. I may just send it back and wait and save for a Zeiss 16-35, since they look fairly decent and was the original one I wanted before budget constraints.

It does hold high regard in the astrophotography world, I believe. And for the price, I've considered getting one just for the odd times when I get the irrational urge to sleep in a tent out in the wilderness.

Yeah, that's some excessive smearing in your first three images. But the nighttime shots look pretty good to me. Given the right sky, I bet this lens could punch above its weight.
