Any other Sydney siders get into this years Vivid Festival. For those not familiar Vivid is a light and sound festival held yearly for a couple of weeks over winter where they have numerous light installations all over the city, mostly on some famous landmarks.

I managed to get in for a couple hours last night. I really wanted to shoot the bridge from the northern side but didn't have enough time to make it over there due to getting into the city quit late and spending too much time enjoying a beverage in a local cafe. Makes for an enjoyable night to just wander around the city though.

Shot with my NEX5R, PZ1650 and SEL16F28 + UWA convertor. What I would have done for an A7R and fast lens. Maybe next year.

The MLC building was interesting. From ugly concrete building it magically morphed into a tree. I think someone should paint it to make it look this way permanently.

wow, really nice! These are all done with projectors right? I don't even see where the beams are coming from. Must take a lot of planning and design.

ilovehatephotography, yeah there are projectors set up. The ones on the Opera House are some distance away on the opposite side of Circular Quay, which is the main ferry terminal for the harbour. The ones for the MLC building were only a couple of metres behind me. Along with the projected images there are a lot of art style light sculptors most of which are can be touched, walked on or even entered.

Very cool. Sometimes I miss living in a big city. Then I get over it. ;)

Yeah he was cool, was tough to shoot him as I was in a bad spot with a big hand rail in the way, and all the pro's were in the good spot. When I first came over one of the pro guys came over and told it was ok to shoot him just no flash heh
