So I was really thinking about the sony 10/18

Two things discouraged me, price and speed.

    I put a bid on a sony alpha mount tokina 11/16 2.8

I happen to win it tonight for less than 1/2 the price of the sony.

Anyone with experience with this lens? All the reviews I've read have been good but I would like to hear from some of you if possible.

    Thanks.

    Well it came today,

    First shot, in between rain.

    enu2e2et.

Pretty sharp, just a little contrast and saturation added.

Nothing to look at but figured it lined up well for a good test shot.

The Samyang/Rokinon/Bower/? 8/2.8 is a very nice lens. You can read my mini review here.

The only thing weird is that when I focus... I'm using the laea1. It is only manual...the thing is when I zoom to focus it never really gets crisp in the viewfinder but when I snap the pic it's usually fine. Is it because of the extreme angle? Or is it the adapter?

Poki... How is the 12mm zeiss? Do you have the same problem?

I don't have this problem. But I don't know what causes this problem either. Maybe it's the angle the light hits the sensor from this combination? That said using focus peaking always is a good idea - does that work fine with this lens?

It peaks fine but only when not zoomed in. I know this is the case with most lenses,
I guess it comes with the territory I use the adapter with a rokinon 85 and no problem.

I'm thinking it's just the wide angle I'll have to try some more shots when the weather is better.
Maybe if there were 24mp and not 16 it would be more detailed in the evf?
