I know there are godzillions of groups already on Flickr, but how about a TALKNEX group where we users can share our stuff?

How about a function to create frames (or call it boxes) in a special colour (I'd like to see black)? That would highlight posted pictures! I'm thinking of something like the frames for html-code or quotes already present in the forum... but with other background-colours, too. I hope you understand what I mean. I've already seen a function like this in other forums, as well.
Thanks for your effort!

I know I am not reinventing the wheel here, but since long time ago I follow the Photo Critique Friday on photo@tutsplus (those of you who do not know what Photo@tutsplus is have a look here)

I would like to see here also one section where us users can post any pictures taken with a NEX camera and then ask help or receive constructive critiques as to how the shooter could have done it to improve or add uniqueness. The internet is full of tutorials I know, but we can also post a picture and question the TALKNEX community regarding the technique involved behind it or how can we closely achieve the look and feel of it.

To some maybe this could be useless but to us less experimenting nex lovers, this section could come up quite handy (and why not improve and help enlarge the talknex forums)

Cheers.

I like this idea a lot. I always thought the critique thread that the Hard Core Street Photography group on Flickr does worked well in that users can post a photo for critique, but the catch is no one else can post a photo for critique until the prior image has a least one critique/response post for it.

Yup, I reckon this'll be a really good way educate, learn, and spread knowledge between users as well as a great way to network and socialise. But like what Travisennis mentioned there's a bit of bottlenecking in regards to posting new photos and responses. If we can establish rule for us to follow to work around the issue, I'm all for this idea :D

I am sure Amin is a real power ranger and he will come up with something. Either a plugin for the vbadvanced CMS or just appoint 1-2-3 moderators for that specific section of the board (they can be in different time zones so they can cover up a full 24h) just to keep an eye on the threads.

Exactly how many of the pro users have chosen the NEX for their compactness, the same I think newbs all around have chosen the NEX as their next hop into more professional cameras. This will allow them to learn on the go about their new 'gadget'.

Hi everybody...
Here's my suggestion: in the share zone, when you enter at the different topics, that would be fine watching a tiny photo of the subjet matter. In this way, you can see the photo before entering...
In other sites it works well... You can enter here, for example, and see what I'm talking about... Urbanas, arquitectura, interiores y escultura

Greetings...

I have been hanging around seriouscompacts lately and I am having heaps of fun with the Singles In January challenge as well as the Weekly Challenge. Not only am I having fun challenging myself but I also find that I am learning a lot.

-Learning about the capabilities of my chosen gear
-Learning from comments given to my submission
-Learning from the submissions of other members.

To Amin and Staff

To boost participation, get to know each other more, to aid learning and creativity and to generally have some FUN, Would it be viable to have the similar events here?

There are varying factors that may prove it to be difficult
-The number of members here in here and in SC are different.
-We concentrate on 1 particular camera system here
-The NEX as a system is still fairly young and new in the photography world

Would it be possible to hold simlar events here? or would it just be more viable to participate in SC where these current events are already being held?

Thanks guys :)

That's actually not bad Phoenix.

By the way, I see many great threads in this forum with lots of posts missing their pictures. I know that it comes down entirely to the free accounts those pictures have been uploading onto those file sharing websites, but there is any way we can avoid that? maybe make the rule to host all pictures on the talknex.com server? Sometimes I go back to those threads to read the updates and can't figure out what pictures were there....
I can provide lots of space and bandwidth on my server.

Amin, Let me know if I can help.

Cheers

Greetings.
Happy to be here.
I do have a couple of form structure suggestions that probably have already been mentioned and may not be possible, but here they are.

#1 a camera specific sub forum within the e-mount camera forum. for example maybe a Nex-3 through 5 subforum and then maybe nex-6, nex-7, a3000, a5000, a5100, a6000 and a7 individual subforums. This would help archiving and users find quick information specific to their camera and fellow users with similar interests.

Well, we've already got an introductions forum, so that one's covered. And though we don't have individual forums for each camera, we do have a forum specifically dedicated to e-mount camera hardware. Since there's so much overlap between cameras, and many of us have owned more than one e-mount camera, it may be easier to find specific answers to your questions if the pool of respondents is bigger. Wouldn't you agree?

Sorry - I don't understand this concept ;)

Joking aside, the sub-forum thing was discussed recently with the introduction of the A7 Full Frame series and whether separating APS-C and FF was beneficial. The general consensus was people liked seeing both platforms in one place, as even if you were an APS-C user, seeing what the A7 could do and the differences/comparisons was useful and interesting (many APS-C users here have upgraded to the A7 as a result).
