I stumbled into a car show, A6000 and 28mm Sigma. They were wrapping up, and many of the cars were leaving.

    Old Porches are neat.

I have no idea on the make of the last vehicle.

    It's an Ariel Atom

Not going to say they are common here in the UK, but you see them around now and again.

Most are powered by a Honda 2.0 engine with 245bhp, but they did make a limited number of 500bhp 3.0 V8s!!

Basically as close to an open wheel racing car that can go on the road as you're gonna get :)

Oh, it only weighs 600kg btw! They are totally insane with the standard engine, I can only imagine what the V8 with 900bhp/ton is like!!

Top Gear's episode with Clarkson driving the Ariel Atom is insane and hillarious :)

    Nice pics Dave ;)

Ooh, nice rare sighting of an Ariel Atom (last car). From England. Essentially a track toy for the rich.

Ah, you guys already beat me to it. ;)

You don't have to be rich. I am thinking of getting one once I have a garage!

The cost is probably lower due to being made in the UK. By the time it's refitted to left-hand drive, certified and SMOG-ed for use on public roads in the USA, may cost 2x as much. It is supposed to be a street-legal vehicle.

I've always thought how incredibly expensive a USA-made Corvette or Mustang costed in the UK when test-driven on Top Gear. They aren't even right-hand drive.

The cost issue here is tax. We can buy American built cars in Europe for 30% less than buying it at home!
The Atom is about £38k, used ones go for mid 20s. Ariel license the building of them out to a company in Virginia so although a British design of you want one in the U.S. there is a local built option (so removing the cost of LHD conversion, import, shipping etc). Prices start at $65k which is very high as its unusually in line with the UK price, I guess you are paying the premium for a very rare car!
