I already did, heavily! I feel that the fountain and the girl both need to be in the frame to show the connection between them.
Gotcha ;)
I'd probably crop the bicycle (the high iso noise shows a lot there) and the scooter. I'd probably clone out that water bottle and that paper (?) on the road :D
The girl's expression is priceless though and you definitely capture the feeling ;)

Thanks for the comments! You're absolutely right about the water bottle and the paper. Cropping the bike and the scooter doesn't do it for me, I feel the picture loses too much of its context that way.

Different things are attractive to different folks...for me, I like the mixture of the darker background objects / clutter as they seem to really make the neat, clean pretty girl & fountain stand out...just my .02 cents.

The last few days I decided that street photography is what I really want to do, for better or for worse. Too bad I suck at it, so I'd better start learning and to do that I started a blog on it, also included in my signature. I figure I'll only get better by doing it a lot, so bear with me. :D

Some from today.

This Friday I focussed (pun intended) on encounters: people having interactions with each other in a way that made me smile, if only just a little.

Just for the record, this is in a country with Dutch as a national language. :wtf:

I like this one! I'd probably try it in B&W with high contrast :)

Tried it and it worked out well actually, though I don't know yet if I'd prefer it over the color version. I'll know in a few days when I look back on them :).

Ad - As reluctant as you were, you are pretty good at street. You really have an eye catching people in interesting moments.

The only thing I would say is that you still seem to give people a lot space. It's like we're watching the scene from afar. The greatest street shots seem to be a bit more intimate, making the viewer feel like he has a first person view.

Different strokes for different folks I guess...I'm not a fan of the up close people as the point of a photo...prefer the broader view of a scene that might also happen to have people in it
