Us there a benefit from turning Steady Shot off when you have a lens that is not compatible or when shooting with an OSS lens on a tripod?

the two systems can impinge on each other ( assuming one is built into the body and one built into the lens )and give a camera shake effect, so at least switch one off, wether on a tripod or not

If you have OOS enabled without a compatible lens nothing will happen cause all electronic parts are in the lens itself (if we're just talking about NEX system) .
But when shooting on a tripod with a OOS compatible lens the OSS HAS to be disabled in the settings!
