Like I said, I was surprised by my quick comparison. And it was pretty quick - in the camera store with a NEX 6. It may very well be sample variation (which I hope would be attributed to a superior 35 mm f/1.8 instead of an inferior Zeiss because I really don't like the idea of a lens at the Zeiss price point having a subpar sample out in the wild like that), and maybe I should rush back and buy that 1.8!

The salesman at the camera shop was also pretty surprised and, when we were looking at on LCD magnification (which again is just a quick comparison), he too felt the 1.8 performed better.

Just received my 35 today. I like it. Alot.
A few from around the dealer and a complete 180 degrees from Brian's beautiful fall imagery.
I experimented with some toning - pardon for the inconsistencies.

Here's a fairly heavy crop from a full-frame capture - roughly the equivalent of an APS-C frame, further pared down to square. This obviously isn't the primary intended use for this lens, but slow as it is, I am finding I really like the way it renders a "normal" crop frame. I may eventually ditch the Sigma 30mm and just use this FE35 on the APS-C body. (The Sonnar definitely has nicer BOKEH to my eyes.)

Some shots from this lens on a recent trip to Chicago. I really like this lens on the A7. It was just okay on the A6000, I think I would want something a tad faster at that focal length on APS-C.
