I know there is a lot of internet grumbling about this lens. I have had it a while and used it extensively on a trip to India earlier this year paired with the a7r. I really like the lens. I can zoom in and see details of the Taj Mahal on the top image. I think this lens is quite sharp and so versatile.

On the bottom image I had to use lens corrections in Lightroom or the painted line on top of the frame had severe mustache curvature.

I am traveling to Provence, France in a few weeks, I plan to bring the 24-70 Zeiss FE and the a7r. I am also planning on bringing along a FF Nikon because we will be going a fair amount of tripod shooting and for that I will use the D800 with 16-35 and 90 MM Tamron macro.

That does look like an interesting place to spend the day. My favourite is also the front on shot of the MIG and the last one of the space shuttle.

Thanks for the comments.

Here is the web site for the museum, located next to the Dulles International Airport in VA, free and open everyday except Christmas:
Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center

There is also air and space museum in the Mall in Washington, DC:
National Air and Space Museum

The one in VA is more for airplanes, it is bigger and less crowded, since it is pretty much a day trip from the city (half hr drive)... The air and space museum was the most enjoyed part of my nephews visit.

I love the Air & Space Museum(s). I still remember first visiting the one on the Mall as a kid way back in 1977 or so shortly after it opened. And now that I live in the area, I take visitors to both at every opportunity. Now I need to make another trip soon just for myself and this time bring my expanding lens collection! I may need a new SD card for that though. ;)

Hi guys for everyone has this lens.. Can you take some portrait shots from 50mm to 70 mm (75mm to 100mm equivalent) to f/4 and f/5.6.. I am trying to see how this lens can perform for portraiture work.. since it gives you a bit of the focal lenghts needed for portraiture work
