NEX7 with Sony/Zeiss 24mm

These are my first samples using the NEX 7 with the Sony/Zeiss taken in a hurry this evening after receiving the NEX7.

Seems the Zeiss 24mm is going to be my "Holy Grail" lens for the Sony system much like the 70-200 f.2.8 L IS lens was for my Canon system. I just hope it doesn't take 5 years to get together the $$ to buy it. Thanks for the shots.

Yohan, thanks for posting those shots.

May I ask which NEX body you are using with the CZ 24?

Great images! From the photos I've seen there's really something about this lens' rendering that I like. Sharp but not clinical, great colors, decent bokeh. Can't tell if its the lens or if the people shooting it just happen to be more dedicated to the craft. :)

I took the lens out yesterday for a while. Took some sunset pics. Went to a bar to see a concert and I was scared to bring the lens in with me. I chickened out.

I have been using it around the house and in my driveway. I must say the thing that I like the most so far is the ability to close focus almost macro like.

Yep - the close-up capability is a definite bonus. (I wish more primes went up to 1:4 like this. And had such awesome BOKEH. But didn't cost $1000...)

The SEL24 does have some CA, which is usually easy enough to correct with software.

If you want less CA with comparable sharpness at this focal length, the Leica Summilux is only an extra $6000. ;)

Exactly. You can't have everything in a lens which costs 'only' a grand. If you buy a Zeiss Master Prime for 21.000 a piece (25mm), well, then you are allowed to complain about every bad sub-pixel.

Fair enough, I was under the rather naive impression that CZ didn't do CA ;) But you learn something new every day.

Well, I'm usually a 50mm shooter on a crop sensor. So that's 75mm.

Just got a speed booster lens turbo for FD mount. Beware it doesn't fit the FL mount lenses. Planned on using it for my 55fl1.2. So now it's on the FD 1.4

Now I have all my favorite lengths covered

24mm/36 on crop
50mm/52 with turbo
55mm/80 crop.

Zeiss stays !!
