It is quite a universal wide-angle(ish) lens with really great micro-contrast - you will notice this right away when you compare RAW files shot with this lens to the likes of Sigma and others.
I think it is underrated, even Mark Galer as a Sony Ambassador isn't naming this lens in his APS-C lens recommendations... ;-)

Such a versatile lens. With a magnification ratio of 1:4 and focusing distance of about 6 inches it can be used as a quasi macro lens.Really love the flower, need to get closer to things...
The rain and the contrast plus the eye for composition make this image outstanding!
