Hello, I am new to Sony nex and interested in shooting video with it. However, i do not like the placement of the video button. Especially if i am using a long lens on a monopod.
I want to be able to diy a sturdy solution so i can also use it on my future shoulder rig.

I know that there are a lot of triggers for starting/stopping video that aerial photographers use:

    2. http://www.flytron.com/rc-shutters/200-sled-sony-rc-shutter.html

    4. http://www.gentles.ltd.uk/gentled/shutterplus.htm

I want to buy one of these, but not sure if i can just add a battery and a push-button to make it work?

I am hoping to make a final product similar to this: http://www.newsshooter.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/image_2-450x600.jpeg
(without the strap, just a simple button to start/stop video)
