Samyang 8mm f/2.8
The newer Fisheye from Samyang is just a much smaller, faster version of the "old" f/3.5 one. It is a very high quality manual focusing lens. Because of the ultra wide angle of view, almost everything is in focus even wide open, so auto focus is not really necessary. The lens sports a very compact, tightly assembled plastic body and a full 180 degree field of view.

Samyang 8mm f/3.5
With a focal length of 8mm it's just about a standard fisheye. This manual focusing lens can be found from about 249$ and features excellent image quality for it's price. Photozone rates it 3/5 stars for optical quality, but 5/5 stars price/performance wise. As it's optically about as good as the newer f/2.8 version, It's highly recommended to get the newer one as it's much smaller, lighter and better assembled.

Carl Zeiss Touit 12mm f/2.8
Available from June for about 1.249 USD. Seen as low as €999 in Europe. Not as wide as the Sony 10-18mm and missing OSS, it's expected to offer better quality while not being much more expensive to satisfy users who prefer to shoot with primes.

Sony 16mm f/2.8
The SEL16F28 was one of the first lenses available. With it's pancake-style, the currently smallest lens on the E-Mount looks nice and performs okay for casual users. It's not really sharp at the borders - not even stopped down - but it has a nice color rendering and many users love this lens. If you are after the sharpest lens without errors, you won't be happy with it.

A wide angle lens made by Sigma. It's much higher optical quality than the Sony 16mm pancake, so it's a good choice for everybody looking for a moderately wide landscape or normal lens. Since 2013, a newer version of this lens with a metal barrel is available, the optical design had not changed.

SLR Magic 28mm f/2.8
The somewhat small 28 mm lens from SLR Magic features a very special aperture ring, which is to my knowledge not available in any other lens. Steve Huff likes the lens especially for the price of just about 150$, but this all manual lens also has its disadvantages like somewhat bad contrast and a "special effect" look when shot wide open. Sigma 30mm f/2.8
A 30mm autofocus lens made by Sigma. It's well regarded to be one of the sharpest lenses on the NEX system - and the sharpest lens for it's money on just about any system. A newer version with a metal barrel is now available, however, the optical design has not been changed from the first version. Note that this is not a macro lens like the Sony 30mm one.

Sony 30mm f/3.5 macro
The first macro lens for the E-Mount comes as a slow normal lens (in 35mm film terms), but features 1:1 magnification ratio with a close focusing distance of just about 2 cm from the front lens to the subject. It's made in China and feels cheaper than other Sony E-Mount lenses, but according to user experiences it actually performs very well.

You actually can get this lens for about 35$ as a C-Mount version with adapter. The only difference is this 100$-version has the adapter built in. But either way, it's a cool special effect lens which could be well suited to some situations. I definitely recommend reading some reviews and look into tons of samples before spending any money on this lens.

SLR magic 50mm f/0.95
The fastest lens available for the NEX. It's huge aperture and cool design sets it apart from any other lens on the market, but it vignettes a bit, is full manual (not that easy to focus at f/0.95) and its color rendition is probably a thing by personal preference. If you want the fastest speed available for your system and you like the samples, buy it. Otherwise invest your money in some more serious lenses.

SLR magic 50mm T/0.95
Not to mistake with the lens above, the T/0.95 is a video optimized lens for Leica M-Mount that can be adapted easily to the Sony NEX system. Optically pretty good, but quite expensive. Also hard to find as SLR Magic has problems producing this lens.

Sony 50mm f/1.8 OSS
Sony's nifty fifty will be shipped in a few weeks. The current samples are as promising as the MTF chart, and as it's actually the first 50mm f/1.8 lens with image stabilization from ANY company, it's going to be interesting how well it performs in low light. According to Steve Huffs review, it's definitely not the sharpest 50mm lens, but it features a very nice Bokeh and color rendition. For 300 bucks it seems to be a must have for any NEX photographer. Rumored to be available in black soon.

As high-quality short macro lens, this serves the purpose as ultra-sharp close-up lens on the NEX system. It will be released in late 2013 and is said to be priced around 1000 dollars.

A relatively cheap, high quality tele lens. It features a metal body with a huge focus ring as well as stunning optical quality, but neither is it a macro lens nor a very fast portrait lens. Recommended to everyone who seeks a high quality allround tele lens.

The current kit lens for NEX cameras. With a retractable design it's almost pancake size while offering more wide angle room than most kit lenses. IQ is not great, especially at the wide end, but 'good enough' for most users while being almost pocketable.

Sony 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS
The standard kit lens for any NEX camera. According to many reviews it's surprisingly good and well build for a kit lens, but on the NEX-7 it started to show it weaknesses. Either way, it's a great lens to start shooting with a Sony mirrorless camera, and you can get it pretty cheap within the kit. If you plan to purchase it separately, make sure the pictures convince you enough to spend 300$ on this rather slow standard zoom.

Sony 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS
A big lens compared to the NEX bodies, however just normal sized for a 11 times super zoom. Quality wise it's the best lens in it's class except the excellent (but super expensive) Panasonic Leica 18-200mm for m4/3 (according to the test data on Photozone.de). With a street price of about 650 USD you pay a lot for the convenience of not having to change lenses, and it's slow too, but if you're into a super zoom, you can't go wrong with this Sony lens. According to SLRgear, it's even better than the kit zoom in the 18-55mm range, so if you only want one lens, this is the way to go.

It's a smaller, lighter and cheaper version of the "normal" Sony 18-200mm lens. While it's 'just' a rebranded Tamron design which is even missing the active OSS from the video optimized original superzoom for the NEX-system, it offers support for Sony's new hybrid-AF, which Tamron won't be able to.

Tamron 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS
This Tamron lens was the first step for their new "VC III" series of lenses, which is dedicated to mirrorless cameras. It's the same lens as the Sony 18-200 mm LE, but can be had much cheaper in some stores. The image quality is better than on the SEL18200, but the stabilization doesn't work as well in video use.

The cheaper alternative to the superzooms above and a perfect match for the kit lens. The big disadvantage: You still have to change lenses. However, if you want the additional focal length for as low money as possible, you get about the same quality as with the SEL18200 here.

SLR Magic 35mm f/1.7
You actually can get this lens for about 35$ as a C-Mount version with adapter. The only difference is this 100$-version has the adapter built in. But either way, it's a cool special effect lens which could be well suited to some situations. I definitely recommend reading some reviews and look into tons of samples before spending any money on this lens.

SLR magic 50mm f/0.95
The fastest lens available for the NEX. It's huge aperture and cool design sets it apart from any other lens on the market, but it vignettes a bit, is full manual (not that easy to focus at f/0.95) and its color rendition is probably a thing by personal preference. If you want the fastest speed available for your system and you like the samples, buy it. Otherwise invest your money in some more serious lenses.

SLR magic 50mm T/0.95
Not to mistake with the lens above, the T/0.95 is a video optimized lens for Leica M-Mount that can be adapted easily to the Sony NEX system. Optically pretty good, but quite expensive. Also hard to find as SLR Magic has problems producing this lens.

Sony 50mm f/1.8 OSS
Sony's nifty fifty will be shipped in a few weeks. The current samples are as promising as the MTF chart, and as it's actually the first 50mm f/1.8 lens with image stabilization from ANY company, it's going to be interesting how well it performs in low light. According to Steve Huffs review, it's definitely not the sharpest 50mm lens, but it features a very nice Bokeh and color rendition. For 300 bucks it seems to be a must have for any NEX photographer. Rumored to be available in black soon.

Carl Zeiss 50mm f/2.8 macro
As high-quality short macro lens, this serves the purpose as ultra-sharp close-up lens on the NEX system. It will be released in late 2013 and is said to be priced around 1000 dollars.

A relatively cheap, high quality tele lens. It features a metal body with a huge focus ring as well as stunning optical quality, but neither is it a macro lens nor a very fast portrait lens. Recommended to everyone who seeks a high quality allround tele lens.

A wide-angle zoom lens, which offers optical steady shot together with an ultra wide angle of view and a constant aperture of f/4. Quality is pretty good, although it has some slight color shifts when used with a NEX-7.

Sony 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 PZ OSS
The current kit lens for NEX cameras. With a retractable design it's almost pancake size while offering more wide angle room than most kit lenses. IQ is not great, especially at the wide end, but 'good enough' for most users while being almost pocketable.

Sony 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS
The standard kit lens for any NEX camera. According to many reviews it's surprisingly good and well build for a kit lens, but on the NEX-7 it started to show it weaknesses. Either way, it's a great lens to start shooting with a Sony mirrorless camera, and you can get it pretty cheap within the kit. If you plan to purchase it separately, make sure the pictures convince you enough to spend 300$ on this rather slow standard zoom.

Sony 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS
A big lens compared to the NEX bodies, however just normal sized for a 11 times super zoom. Quality wise it's the best lens in it's class except the excellent (but super expensive) Panasonic Leica 18-200mm for m4/3 (according to the test data on Photozone.de). With a street price of about 650 USD you pay a lot for the convenience of not having to change lenses, and it's slow too, but if you're into a super zoom, you can't go wrong with this Sony lens. According to SLRgear, it's even better than the kit zoom in the 18-55mm range, so if you only want one lens, this is the way to go.

Sony 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 LE OSS
It's a smaller, lighter and cheaper version of the "normal" Sony 18-200mm lens. While it's 'just' a rebranded Tamron design which is even missing the active OSS from the video optimized original superzoom for the NEX-system, it offers support for Sony's new hybrid-AF, which Tamron won't be able to.

Tamron 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS
This Tamron lens was the first step for their new "VC III" series of lenses, which is dedicated to mirrorless cameras. It's the same lens as the Sony 18-200 mm LE, but can be had much cheaper in some stores. The image quality is better than on the SEL18200, but the stabilization doesn't work as well in video use.

The cheaper alternative to the superzooms above and a perfect match for the kit lens. The big disadvantage: You still have to change lenses. However, if you want the additional focal length for as low money as possible, you get about the same quality as with the SEL18200 here.
