I'm not going to do another detailed review of this lens since there's already a very nicely done review. I would mentioned the comparison to the Tamron. When I had a Canon body, I had the Tamron 90 mm macro. The Tamron was noisy and took a long time to focus and many times, I missed the shot when I wanted to get a bee on a flower. In comparison, the Sony is very fast but I did had some instances where I couldn't get the focus. Most of the time if I back off and re-adjust it focuses quickly. I hardly ever miss the shot of a bee or other insect on a flower.
Overall, it's an excellent macro lens, as it's very quick to focus and nice sharp details.
These are just some of the macro photos I took this weekend.

f 4.5 1/1600 I was testing to see how quickly it can focus on the tips of the Stamen. I didn't have much of a struggle to get this. I usually take 3 shots in a row as I'm hand holding. 2 out of 3 came in focus but I liked this one the most.

This one I struggled with as I couldn't get a good focus of the Stamen. I took many shots to get a good focus. I would say it was more to do with the breeze rather than getting a good focus. It was also hot so I was rushing to get out of the sun. On my 3rd attempt of the day, I waited out the breeze to get this shot.

Another I struggled with but mostly due to getting my hand steady. Again, nothing to do with the lens focusing.

This was the most difficult shot. Not only was I struggling with the wind, I just couldn't get a good focus on auto mode. I was trying to get the stamen in focus but it kept getting the petals. I switched manual mode to get this shot. I was really close to this flower and If I had someone take a picture of me taking this shot, I'm sure It was close to touching my lens.
f 3.5 1/3200 ISO 500.
I took a step back on this shot as I wanted a bit more of the background.
f 4.5 1/2000
f 4.0 1/800.
This one was highly cropped at post. Besides being too far away to get a nice macro, I wanted to see how it would do with the all the background stems. The colors blended in so I wasn't sure how it would do. I was really impressed by its accuracy being that it was at f 4.0.

I'm sure I'd get that bee in focus with a smaller f stop!!!
I had just put my eye on the camera and took a shot at the time the bee decided to leave.

And some non-macro shot. I had a visitor while taking shots of flowers. He/she was mostly interested with my bird seeds rather than what I was doing.
The details at f 3.5 is great! The first one is slightly cropped as I was taking this at full sun, so the background as you can still see, is pretty much washed out.
I tried to bend down to get a better angle but he's rather jumpy. The shot that follows was when I bend my knees just a tad.
