Our local Madrone and Manzanita trees are showing signs of stress from the drought and heat. They usually don't start peeling like this until much later in the summer.

Madrone and Manzanita are very common scrub-land trees out here on the left coast. Whenever you see vast swaths of hillside going up in flames out here, you can be sure that both of those species are well represented in the conflagration. ?

Manzanita was I word I'd only heard in a Grateful Dead song. I might even have had to wait until Google before I found out that it was a tree. Madrone is a new one to me today.

Thank you Will for the suggestion.
I have done a few (many perhaps ) photos in black and white or light sepia a few years ago.
The conversion was made right in the morning while having coffee but left it for revaluation later on.
