Very reluctant and unhappy model. Something about her hair being a mess...

I said I was experimenting with my flash, remote trigger, umbrella, stand and it was just an "experiment". Which it really was as I've decided to refocus on off camera flash portraits. The time away was just enough to almost forget all the flash and trigger settings. Shot at f/4, ISO 50, 1/200 sec.

I am absolutely blown away by this lens. I wasn't at all positive when I ordered it as I was afraid that the 'budget' would be similar in quality to the SEL50F18. I am so glad that I was wrong.

Nice shots.

Didn't realize until recently how well this lens scored on DXO. One of the highest scoring lenses in fact. You certainly get a big bang for your buck.

Sony FE 85mm F1.8 | DxOMark

Conclusion
Large high-speed primes such as the 85mm F1.4 G Master are nice to have, but they are pricey, large, and sometimes intimidating. When it comes to moderate-speed lenses, it sometimes seems that manufacturers put price before outright optical performance. That’s not the case here. While not exactly cheap, the Sony FE 85mm F1.8 costs less than its premium G Master sibling or even the rival Zeiss Batis 85mm F1.8, yet it has a real nice balance of performance, with excellent sharpness and low lateral color and distortion. Apart from a little vignetting, with its unobtrusive size and low weight, this new lens looks to be an excellent alternative for all the right reasons.

Pretty stinking sharp too. This is f/4 f/100 which is very low shutter speed. You can see the motion blur on the boy but mom is tack sharp

Never thought I would need this but at $548 on sale, why not? There are times 135mm is a bit long for close quarter. Much lighter, compact, native mount for quick AF.
AF motor specs is great and it is. Very very quiet. Is it worth it? Sure is.
Arrived yesterday and out for a spin today mounted on a7m2. :)
