Collected my new 70-200 f4 G from a local camera shop yesterday for my A6500. One of my first test shots (@200mm, f4, 1/320sec, ISO 100) plus 100% crop. Quite pleased so far.

I guess that I am not the only one using the 70-200mm f/4 G OSS lens on an APSC camera. Here are a few of my first shots with this lens on my A6400. When I use my Canon 70-200mm f/4L IS lens on a Canon DSLR, I generally shoot with the tripod rig attached and twisted around to the top of the lens. However, I remove the tripod ring from the Sony version when I am shooting with the small A6400 camera. I seem to balance the combination better without the couple of ounces extra weight of the tripod ring. That's only my experience. Others may like it better with the ring attached...

The f/4 G version is a LOT smaller and lighter in weight than the f/2.8 GM version. Costs a LOT less too!

Great captures. I like the way you got down to the dogs level rather than shooting the dog while looking down from your eye level, The pup is cute as the dickens also!!

Although focusing with the A6400 is fairly easy, I cannot wait for the upcoming firmware release that will give the A6400 Animal Eye-AF capability...

Sasha my rough coated Jack Russell Terrier from her lair beneath my computer desk. Animal Eye-AF activated with A6400 firmware 2.0... The OSS on this lens works quite well and the Animal Eye-AF is flawless...

A6400 Animal Eye-AF even works on a one-eyed dog!

Pelush has a severe cataract in his remaining eye and is due for surgery at the end of this month which will restore vision to that eye. He is also deaf and has no teeth but, is the happiest dog in the world after a very hard previous life.
