I did a search on this Showcase forum for this lens and couldn't find it so I figured I would start one since I just received mine in the mail. I wanted something, fast, light and small I could take anywhere and this lens fits the bill. It's been raining heavily here so don't have much to show yet.

You might be the first here to have one. From what I have read, it's a great piece of glass. Looks good so far.

Did you consider the FE2/28?
This looks good to me. My brother has a dog very much like yours.
Thanks, I did and it was really a toss up between the 2, I just prefer the 35mm FOV, and since I didn't pay full price it was an easy decision. Yeah we believe she's a mix Chihuahua/Dachshund but she can be vicious :)

I just love the fact of how light and small it is, I was also looking at the Sigma 35mm f1.4 and the size and weigh was just a turnoff. The Sigma 24-35mm f2 I have is an absolute beast for me to carry as a walkabout lens.

No profile for this lens in Lr yet so been using the Sony FE 35mm f1.4 profile.

It's a fast lens for 35mm but it doesn't look small.
I wonder how big it is compared to FE28/2.0.

The new 35mm is the same size as the 55mm f1.8 ZA at 2-3/4:" tall. The 28mm f2 is just over 2-1/4" tall. But unlike either of those it uses a different 55mm filter size instead of the more Sony common 49mm size. That is one of the reasons I am keeping my 35mm ZA f2.8, it is 1/2 the height of the new 35 and uses the same 49mm filter size as my 28 and 55. Plus it is $150 overpriced for the basic lens makeup it has, should have been $600 max.

I agree I think $600 should be the price range which is what I paid for it, as far as the weight compared to my Canon FD 35mm f2 it's light as a feather :)

I've posted these on other threads but since I took them with the FE 35 f1.8 I figure I should post them here to.

Mine arrived late this afternoon, so just did a little shooting around home to put it through its paces. I think I'm going to really like this lens!
