Like the second one, for a moment I even felt the cold in it.

Both are good, but the second has a real atmosphere to it.

    Thank you for the comments!

I am looking forwarding to seeing some 35/1.8 images from other new owners of this lens. In the meantime, another landscape from last week (weather and work did not give me the chance to get out over the holiday weekend):

I love the wide open vastness of the compositions... especially like the no.2 pic (B&W)

It looks so cold! grrrrrr

    Thanks for all the comments!

Anyone else with this lens yet? I am looking forward to seeing some images from others.

In the meantime, another one from last week. I will be getting out this weekend and will try to post some more diverse images (shallow DoF, etc.). So far, I have been just trying to get a handle on the lens for my landscape stuff. So far, so good.

Saw this lens on the shelf at a local camera store this week and had me intrigued. Like your shots but at f/5.6 what lens does not perform decently well? How's it do wide open or f2 or so?

I really just wanted to get the native lens archive going for this new lens... my posts were not meant to be a review of the lens, just sharing my output on the new lens (using my typical subjects and processing). That said, I have been meaning to post some wide open samples, but just haven't got this done yet (don't normally do much of the shallow DoF stuff). Sorry! If no one else posts f1.8-f2 examples, I will do my best to get some posted.

In the meantime, yet another heavily-processed f5.6 example from this past weekend! [insert evil laugh] ;)

I will say that I think this lens performs better in regards to CA and corner sharpness, when stopped down, than my Sigmas have done on my NEX-7. OSS and f1.8 are just great bonuses, as far as I am concerned.

Very nice image! Like the tones in it. Coming originally from Northern Ontario(Sudbury) this is a familiar view.

They are top notch photos, was there much pp in these ?. I will definitely have to rethink this lens, keep them coming. The results look similar to the results I get from my CZ16-80 and I love that lens

Bokeh looks superb! What is size of your model/focus distadce/background distance? Did you make some selective adjustment of background or is it "raw"?
    Tkanks for your answer!
