Sony A7R with Vivitar 70mm-150mm Macro

    The first thing I noticed about this lens is how heavy it is. Like most of the old lens, they are made of dense hard mental. These days, lenses are made of aluminum or plastic casing.
    Since the lens is long and heavy, it is better used with a tripod. I shot the Trumpet flower with my hands and settings on manual with shutter priority. I don’t have the most stable hands. So I need a quick shutter so I don’t get motion blur in my photos.

    Good to see one of my favorite lenses doing so well on the full frames.

    However, you mention the lens being big/heavy. I find the opposite to be true. Compared to other legacy lenses in the range, I find this lens to be a fairly light lens.
