I hear that this is a very sharp lens that was used on Nex 5, 6 and 7s

Has anyone every tried using this lens or any other of these crop sensor lenses on the Full Frame A7R?

I have a friend who has one for sale and am thinking of getting

Any responses would be great appreciated!

I tried Sony Zeiss 24mm 1.8, 35mm 1.8 OSS, 50mm 1.8 OSS and Sigma 19/30, etc. They do not cover the full image at full frame but you can use as 1.25-1.3x crop if you don 't mind the corner sharpness eg for portraits. Some lenses like Sigma's might cover a little more if you move the lens bayonet. Other option is use in crop mode which will give you 1.5x images like with nex's. OSS helps w/ 35mm and 50mm and they are good lenses with low distortion.

    Here are 2 samples:

    35mm 1.8 OSS, Not very good shot but ISO 10,000. I think I cloned a little in the corners... 28.6MP crop w/ A&R ~ 39.35mm f2
    original.

    50mm 1.8 OSS @ 24MP equiv w/ A7R ~ 61.2mm crop, you can see the dark corners:
    original.

I don't mind using cropped NEX glass as long as it gives me great results in crop mode, great pics btw!

Why buy an expensive 36mp Full Frame camera and use it in crop mode though?

If you go with adapted lens the Minolta Rokkor 58mm f/1.4 is a great lens and can be had for cheap. So is the Canon FD 50mm 1.4. They go on eBay for about $50 each

I've got a bunch of fd lenses just waiting to get taken out for use on the A7r [emoji16]

I am a big fan of the Canon A1, and used to shoot street with it a lot
