Any opinions on this type of mount and using the alpha lenses vs using NEX lenses? I see there are many more choices and better prices for the alpha lenses rather than the NEX lenses.

If you don't need AF and you need a A mount lens that isn't available in E mount then it makes sense. Although if you're going to manually focus lenses it may be a better move to use legacy MF lenses to start because they have better focus action than AF lenses do (generally speaking) and may be less expensive than their AF equivalent.

If you need AF then the cost of the LA-EA1 or 2 adds to the cost substantially. Unless you plan on more than one A mount lens it may be a wash costwise. Unless you already have the lenses, then it's a no-brainer to use the A mount lenses.

If Sony brings out a FF NEX body (if that interests you) then the A mount lenses may make more sense than buying E mount lenses. The current E mount lenses will probably work on a FF NEX body, but in a crop mode.

Bottom line question is what exactly do you want/need and is the cost justified? Decisions, decisions… ;)
