has anyone tried the Sony 70-400mm f/4-5.6 G (Alpha mount) with Sony adapter on the A7ii? Wonder since the lens has no OSS how it fares with the new IBIS?
I like the 70-200 f/4, works great on my A7ii even at 1/50s.... just wish for more reach.... :)
Thanks for anyone that has actually tried it and can actually tell about its performance.

I have it - check my adapted lens sample image archive thread - works fantastic with LAEA4 and A7ii.

I've used it for sports, wildlife and had no issues or problems with image stabilization (it's excellent ), and tracking (again it's excellent but not quite as amazing as the A77ii). The lens as an aside is as good as reviewers make out image quality wise. It's a beautiful lens with a very different rendering (possibly warmer/ more Minolta like rendering) to the native FE70-200 F4. Both are excellent lenses though. I had considered the Tamron 150-600 on A-mount adapted, but from a pure sharpness perspective the 70-400 is sharper throughout all overlapping focal lengths but with a smaller focal range. For my needs the 70-400 is a better lens optically in the ranges that I shoot.
In terms of IBIS on A7ii, because it is a native A-mount lens, the camera knows the focal length - this allows it to benefit from 5 Axis of image stabilization.
