I just purchase the Sony 18-200mm lens. So far I am loving it. Two questions.
1.When I know I will be shooting in the 18-50mm range, is there any quality advantage to using this lens instead of the 16-50 kit lens ?
    2. Since I no longer need the 50-210mm lens, where is the best place to sell it?

Size is really the main factor here. The 18-50 is quite a bit smaller, but the 18-200 gives you more range.

As to selling, I have always used Ebay and Craigslist with great success. As well post it here.

I understand the range difference. My real question was if I am taking a picture at say 35mm, will the picture quality be better if I use the $850 18-200mm lens or if I use the kit 16-50 lens which was included but probably cost about $200 if purchased separately. In other words does the more expensive lens offer any advantage when shooting at a focal length support by both lenses.

It's hard to tell whether the 18-200 is better at 16-50 than the kit lens. Lenses with more zoom range usually have worse quality - or are much more expensive.

From what I've read, the 18-200 should be a little better from 24mm onwards, and also it's a little faster at most focal lengths.

I was toying with getting the 18-200 or 55-210 lens for my 5R.. In the end got the 18-200 as its seems to be an easier lens to live with, ie no swapping when u want closer pics.. But the down side is the weight and bulk size of the lens

Wish I rather got the 55-210, its much smaller and much lighter, ok there is the issue that you can take closer pics, but that where the second camera came into play

End of the day, I know its down to preference....

Why? Both lenses have range 200-210mm
If you meant that with the 18-200 you can take wider photos, then yes...
